Cambria is a quaint beach town on Highway 1 with a dramatic coastline. Some of the most attractive places in Cambria are the Moonstone beach, Elephant Seal, the Quaint Cambria Downtown, and the smallest town of Harmony, a few miles away.

Moonstone Beach

Moonstone Beach is one of the most spectacular beaches on Highway 1. A boardwalk edges the beach and steps down to the beach. You can just stroll on the boardwalk and enjoy the dramatic coastline. The sunset from Moonstone Beach is spectacular and a must-see. If you are lucky you can also see whales at a far distance. There are some restaurants and hotels along that beach which also has spectacular view.

The boardwalk is completely wheelchair accessible

Wheelchair accessibility  ♿️ ♿️ ♿️

  • The Hotels at the beach has wheelchair-accessible rooms and parking
  • Some of the hotels do not have wheelchair access to the upper rooms or the lounge
  • Most of the hotels have a wheelchair-accessible charging point for EV vehicles.

Cambria Downtown

Cambria downtown is a charming laid-back little town with many restaurants, boutiques,  and fascinating art galleries. My favorite is the pottery shop. You can grab a bite and enjoy the stroll visiting some galleries with amazing artifacts.

Wheelchair accessibility  ♿️ ♿️ ♿️

The downtown is completely wheelchair accessible. All the shops have a ramp either in the front of the store or in the back of the building for wheelchair access.

Elephant Seal Vista Point

Elephant Seal Vista Point is 13 miles from Cambria on Highway 1. It is very interesting to watch them, whether they are sleeping, lumbering around, jousting, or flipping sand on themselves to help keep cool in the sun. There’s a boardwalk from where you get a great view of the seals.

Wheelchair accessibility  ♿️ ♿️

There is a wheelchair-accessible parking. There is a boardwalk that runs along the beach but there are some places that are not paved and you might need some help navigating the wheelchair.

Harmony

Harmony is possibly one of the smallest towns with a population of 18. You can visit this little town and enjoy the old-world charm of the place. There is a beautiful pottery store, the Harmony Glass Works store, and the historic Harmony Valley handcrafted ice cream.

This place is completely wheelchair accessible
