Cypress Tree Tunnel, California, USA 🇺🇸

Wheelchair accessibility ♿️ ♿️ ♿️

Cypress Tree tunnel is a tunnel of Monterey cypress trees on the Point Reyes Peninsula. The cypress tree tunnel is located about halfway between the lighthouse and the visitors center. It is hard to miss, as you can see the trees coming for about a mile before you get there. You can either drive across the tunnel and park on the left or you can park on the roadside. The terrain near the roadside is a little rough and might be a little difficult for wheelchair users. The gate is sometimes closed due to the Whether. There is a side opening from where you can enter. It might be a little tricky for wheelchair users if the gate is called.

Colonial Puebla and Cholula 🇲🇽

Wheelchair Accessibility rating : ♿️ ♿️

Cholula and Puebla are the two colonial towns that are easy day trips from Mexico City. Zocalo at Puebla is a lively place and home to gorgeous tiled buildings and Mexican Baroque churches, including the Church of Santo Domingo and the Chapel of the Rosary. The colorful architectural buildings are a feast to the eyes. The overall area is wheelchair accessible but you have to look for the hidden ramps. Ask your cab to drop you at zocalo.

Cholula on the other hand has lively neighborhoods and the famous Pyramid Church along with the other 365 churches. This place has many food vendors selling traditional Mexican food. Don’t forget to take a picture at San Andres Cholula. That is a wheelchair-accessible place from where you can get the perfect view of the Pyramid church.

Overall the wheelchair accessibility of both places is moderate.

Wheelchair Accessibility Rating; ♿️ ♿️

My friends and I went skiing in the Catskills mountains in Northern New York. It snowed a lot and was an idyllic skiing mountain. Interesting fact: the folklore “rip van winkle” is set in the Catskills mountains. Most of the place is Wheelchair accessible except the ski area. Its a good idea to enquire about adaptive ski lessons.

Lehigh Gorge State park, Pennsylvania, USA 🇺🇸

Wheelchair Accessibility : ♿️ ♿️

The Lehigh Gorge State Park has many miles of hiking and biking trails. The terrain is fairly rugged with beautiful views of the Lehigh River.
The biking trails are wheelchair accessible but the Hiking trails are not due to the rugged terrain.
There is also a train from the town of Jim Thorpe Pa that winds through the park and it’s absolutely stunning. The train is easily accessible for a wheelchair.
We have hiked here in the summer, fall, and winter. The Glen Onoko falls inside the park are gorgeous and completely freezes during the winter.

Wheelchair Accessibility : ♿️ ♿️

Ed Levin Park in Milpitas is a beautiful park with both nature trails and area to picnic, fish and walk. We went to visit the area on a weekend in November. There are many birds in the Sandy Wool lake. The trail around the Sandy Wool lake is paved and is wheelchair accessible. Since this trail is very popular and there were too many people, we wanted to find a lonelier trail. We went on the Tularcitos trail, which was uphill. The trail had really great views of the neighboring areas. However, this trail was not wheelchair accessible.

Wheelchair Accessibility: ♿️ ♿️

The Cliff House is a renowned restaurant on Point Lobos Avenue sitting on a cliff, hence the name. Though temporarily closed, many still venture there for its breathtaking views, winding trails and beaches, or just for a morning jog. It’s a great place to take your bike or have a stroll with your family and friends. On the trails, there are seating areas every so often. There you can either take a second to catch your breath or capture some memorable moments with pics of the gleaming blue waters. The place where you can see the vast, clear ocean and boats traveling under the Golden Gate is arguably the most popular spot for sightseeing. Although the location is very open, it can get pretty crowded on the weekends, so be sure to stay safe and wear a mask :).
