Hi! My name is Twesha
Welcome to my blog… our blog.
I started writing this blog in 7th grade. Back when butterflies and flowers were the highlights of my day and recess was my “favorite” subject.
Ever since I was born, I have seen my father on crutches. But that did not stop us from traveling to places far and near.
We are a family who love to travel. Our travel experiences are a complete team effort where every member has a very well-defined role. My mom researches and plans the travel, which includes different wheelchair accessibility options and ways it can be achieved.
This blog first started off as a platform for us to share information about our family’s travels and our accessible tips while traveling.
Over time, this research grew into a huge collection, which I wanted to share with others who faced similar accessibility issues. In my high school freshman year, I started the blog, Twesha’s Travel Diary, where I shared my family’s wheelchair-accessible travel experiences and research. We even provided wheelchair ratings for different local/touristic places.
When my blog grew in hits, I realized I could not cover the world on my own. I created a space for collaboration (Reachable Places For You) in my blog for people to share their wheelchair-accessible experiences. The collaboration site encourages people to share local experiences and tourist places from all over the world.
Our travel plans have always been a family effort. Each article of mine is a reflection of my family and our planning. The blog grew from sharing just our planning and traveling experiences. I also published our random innovations and solutions. We would be creative as a family and I was very involved in figuring out how to make a lot of our plans more efficient. This interest in optimization got me interested in Industrial Engineering. Today I am attending UC Berkeley College of Engineering. I am very excited to grow in my new environment and continue to contribute in more ways than one to this blog. College has been very demanding. As a result I am taking the back seat and my mom is helping me in taking this blog further and helping the community. This is no longer a one-person blog. Together we have covered:
