Wow! Eleven years… that’s more than a decade! Over the past eleven years, I may have spent more time in Stratford School than in my own home. Stratford was my second home. So many memories in these past eleven years. Those winter and spring programs, where I barely moved an inch on the stage, to performing as Rafiki in the middle school musical, it has been a fantastic journey. A journey where we would have official nap time(pre K) and I would fake it, to the days where I would actually fall asleep in class(Gr 8). The passage of time that has witnessed field trips of different flavors, from pumpkin patch to Washington DC. The disappointment of losing elections one year, and then the joy of winning in the following year. The hustle and bustle of the Science Fair and the daylong activities at the County Fairgrounds. Mom and Dad’s involvement in multicultural week, balloon art at Stratford picnics, chaperoning the field trips are all now in the rearview mirror. And as I get all set to start my high school, I look back and wonder. Did all these things really happen? It sure did. A big thanks to all my teachers at Stratford. To them I can say –
As I get ready
To go to high school
I reflect and realize
That you were so cool!
