FOG celebrated India’s Independence day this weekend in Fremont, California. Since my childhood I have been attending this fair with my parents and friends to celebrate India’s Independence Day.
FOG organizes the India day Mela ( the indian term for a fair) to celebrate this occasion every year. This year it was celebrated on Aug 17th and 18th. It is a very nice place to hang out for all ages. They have many booths selling Indian Jewelleries and colorful dresses. People can enjoy lots of yummy Indian food. There is a centrally located stage where there are lots of entertaining performances of dance and music and different floats. To keep the kids entertained they also setup many inflatables. A place for all to have fun.

♿️Accessibility♿️

  • There are some ADA parkings at the intersection of Walnut and Liberty near the Coldwell Banker building. You can also look for more ADA parking spots as you go around the building
  • A wheelchair or a mobility scooter can navigate out of the parking lot and use the sidewalk to reach the fair.
  • All the booths in the fair are accessible. For some booth you may have to negotiate a bump that covers all the electric connections. But you can go around and reach the booth.
  • At the entrance the ramp for the wheelchair is a little steep. Does not quite follow the ADA standards.
  • There are accessible restrooms at entrance and the back of the fair.
